Message from the CEO

Being part of our local communities is an important element of our careers. This past week ACBC General Manager Jeremy McNamara and I were pleased to meet with Ned Mannoun, the Mayor of Liverpool, and Michael Cullen, the Director of Economy and Engagement at Liverpool City Council, who were visiting our new state of the art campus currently under construction.

Since the establishment of ACBC in Liverpool in 1996, it’s been exciting to see the community grow and change, and be involved in that transformation. Our new campus is one piece of the ongoing revitalisation and development of the area.

Continued population growth is expected for Liverpool, but the Sydney Metropolitan Strategy estimates that an increase in the area’s employment capacity by 35,000 jobs is required by 2036 to keep pace with the projected population. Part of Council’s strategy to prepare for the future is to work with existing businesses to assist them to grow and improve competitiveness, and to work with employers to engage and train local people.

Our new campus fits with Liverpool’s strategy to grow employment in our community. By helping people get relevant skills, we open up local opportunities for them in the growing services sector. At the same time, having people with the skills businesses need makes it possible for them to grow and improve competitiveness.

In addition to the exciting developments in Liverpool, we look forward to growing and continuing to serve all our communities, including Parramatta and Wollongong.

Have a great week!
