The Diploma of Counselling course provides students with a background and understanding of the counselling process, enabling them to consider practising as professional counsellors. Students gain practical experience through placements, which offer a unique insight into the world of counselling.

Regular feedback is provided by a supervisor and course peers, which helps develop the skills needed to become a successful counsellor. The course is designed to give a strong foundation in counselling theory and practice. Students learn the skills required to work with people with different problems, issues and concerns, such as

Students will learn about community services and the role of a community worker, as well as gain knowledge of human resource management and personnel management. The Diploma of Community Services covers an array of topics, including workplace relations, customer service, communication skills and teamwork.

The course is full-time. It requires three days of on-campus college attendance per week over 38 weeks (excluding holidays). 100 hours of mandatory work placement needs to be completed to qualify. Additional home-based study is also required.
