Message from the CEO

We have had a great start to the term during our first weeks. I am happy to see our students settling in, making new friends and taking the first steps for a successful year.

We’re very excited to have our new Counselling students join us this week across all three campuses. This our second year of running this course and the students will start going into their first practicum placements in around three weeks. Statistics from the Commonwealth Government predict strong jobs growth in the Counselling sector in the next three years, so now is a great time for our students to be studying for a career in this sector. Good luck and welcome Counsellors of the future!

As we get into the term, it’s important to keep a positive attitude to maintain your momentum going forward. Here are a few tips to help you stay positive and successful throughout the year.

A good place to start is by planning your days and weeks. When you have a full schedule it’s important to keep track of what you need to do and set your priorities. By planning and writing down activities and deadlines in a calendar, you’ll get more done and feel less stress.

Exercising and eating right will also help you stay focused. Exercising and eating healthy foods will boost your attitude and improve your learning ability. Remember to surround yourself with positive people and ideas. Negative attitudes are contagious, so associate with positive people and read motivational books with inspiring messages.

Be grateful for the good things that you have in life. By doing so you will maintain a positive frame of mind and attract what you want.

When working towards any goal, it’s important to realise that things won’t always go as planned. We can’t attain success without a few challenges and pitfalls along the way. When an unpleasant surprise occurs, think of it as a temporary inconvenience and move forward.

Keep these tips in mind to stay positive, maintain your momentum and reach your academic and career goals.
